Does waking up in the morning to a picturesque view of a jungle canopy while having everything you need on your doorstep sound like something you could get used to? You’re going to love the Treeline Urban Resort.

In my case, I didn’t even have to wait until I woke up in the morning to fall head over heels for the place — as soon as I walked in and saw the artwork, I knew I was going to be gushing about it for months on end. You’ll soon find out why.
To give you the full picture of this unique resort, I’ll break down my thoughts on the location, amenities, architecture, and more. Oh, and rest assured, I’ve actually visited the place — I know what I’m talking about, and I’d never share anything other than my honest opinion.
With all that said, let’s dive straight in!
Location
Whether you’re a tourist, just passing through the area, or looking for a spot to relax and detox for a few days, nothing is more important than location.
The Treeline Urban Resort is unlikely to disappoint in this department. Set in the center of the busy city of Siem Reap, just a 15-minute drive away from the famous Angkor Wat ruins, it’s the perfect spot for travelers and casual visitors alike.
It’s called the Treeline Urban Resort for a reason — overlooking huge expanses of trees yet conveniently located by the city, you’ll find the best of both worlds.
Aesthetics
The first thing that struck me when I arrived at Treeline Urban was almost certainly the beauty of the building itself. The mixture of industrial and natural style makes for an unusual combination, but I can confirm that the architects pulled it off. In fact, it was so stunning that it took me a good few minutes to actually make it inside!
It’s impossible not to notice the contemporary and local-made art covering the floors, walls, tapestries, and ceiling. You can just see the artistry and time that went into each and every piece. It may as well be an art gallery (not exaggerating, I promise).
The inspiration for this bold art comes from the Khmer, who were responsible for crafting the temple walls of the Angkor ruins, noted for their artistic touch.
Even better, most of the pieces were made by local artists from a community of creatives. Supporting local craftspeople while giving you a luxurious selection to feast your eyes on? Now, that’s something I can get behind.
If you’re an artist (or just an individual with a creative streak), this hotel will be sure to leave you feeling inspired and ready to make your life’s work. Hopefully, that shines through into my video of the place!
Amenities
Where to start with the amenities? There’s the pool overlooking trees, a beautiful courtyard and garden filled with flowers, and even a spa.
I could easily have spent my entire stay at the Suri Spa — trust me when I tell you it was paradise. My trip to the masseuse involved a beautiful blend of oils and a skillful, rejuvenating human touch that was true to Southeast Asian tradition. There are eight packages to choose from here, so there’s something for all personalities and ailments.
Plus, the spa is just as committed to sustainability as the rest of the hotel (more on this to come). All the ingredients are organic and ethically sourced.
Then, when you’re finished, head straight to the pool to finish your day of relaxation and pampering.
I also ate some great food here — and you’ve got options.
There’s the Seed restaurant (known for its sustainably sourced breakfasts), the Hok Noodle bar, the Brown Cafe, and more. As you’d expect, each one gets five stars for its decor. Just like the rest of the hotel, they’re full of stunning pieces by talented local artists.
Oh, and if you’re hoping to remote work (or simply surf the internet) during your stay, fear not — Treeline Urban provides WiFi, and it was good enough for me to carry out basic tasks on the internet throughout the whole resort.
Room
Nobody wants to spend their entire vacation in a hotel room, but we all like to come back to a little luxury after a long day of relaxing and sightseeing.
Again, I wasn’t disappointed.
My favorite thing about my room was its huge window, complete with a fantastic view. Of course, this will vary depending on exactly where you stay, but I had a view of the hotel’s infinity pool. Lush! Plus, it lets in so much light that you’ll wake up in the morning feeling like you just arrived in heaven — and there’s even a convenient window seat. Perfect for writing, reading, or drawing.
Another top pick was the beautiful bathroom, complete with dual sinks for couples, a luxurious bath tub, and charming toiletries like lotions and bath salts.
But that’s not all — the furnishings and decor are just as inviting. My room included pieces like a handwoven basket,
As touched on already, one thing I really appreciated about the Treeline Urban Resort was its dedication to sustainability. In addition to the food and support for local artists, the hotel encourages guests to reuse their towels, and only changes its sheets every three days (although guests can request frequent changes if they wish).
After all, who really needs new sheets every single day? Maybe don’t answer that question.
A getaway of pure bliss awaits you
